Whilst on the road it’s easy to forget who we are and where it is from which came. Easily we are trapped inside our own selves causing us to worry only about ourselves, when what we should really be worried about are the others. The easy way to go is to not worry about it. But in reality the best thing is to stay in touch with your family(at home and on the road). By doing so you create a community that doesn’t exist otherwise, anywhere. Now I don’t know anyone that doesn’t consider who they’ve met over the years as family, but with that comes a responsibility, a responsibility to your true and actual family, however you define such a term.
I guess what I’m trying to say is never forget from where it is that you came. In most cases that I can think of without family we wouldn’t be able to do what it is that we love to do… See Phish. Now this is where it gets tricky, with all the temptations on the road it’s easy to get caught up in yourself. What I always try to remember is that we are all one, an unstoppable force of positive energy that moves town to town in hopes of a great experience. Now that tour is almost upon us it is truly an important time to connect with those that we hold dear. Keeping them close will help you, at least it’s helped me remember who I really am, one single individual that belongs to the greatest community of music lovers ever… Phish Fans!!!
Now, If I Could Only Remember My Name…
